At LittleLife, we create products built to last, and we believe it’s vital to care for the environment for future generations of adventurers. We know there’s still more we can do, but sharing our progress is one small step on the journey to reducing our environmental impact.
We’re committed to doing better for the planet. For many years, we’ve been working to reduce our environmental impact while continuing to create market-leading products.
We’ve invested in more efficient operations, including responsible energy sourcing, electric vehicles, and smarter shipping methods. At the same time, we’re focused on improving working conditions across our supply chain and eliminating the use of hazardous substances or unethically sourced materials.
We’ve reported our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for several years, with data independently assessed by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). In 2024, we were awarded a B rating (compared to an industry average of C), and we’re actively working towards achieving an A grade in the near future.
Reducing our environmental impact has been a priority since launching our first recycled backpack collection over 20 years ago.
We assess every product for its environmental footprint, using recycled materials wherever possible. Today, 90% of our backpacks and 95% of our towels are made from recycled fabrics. We also use Bluesign-approved and Oeko-Tex certified materials, as well as recycled buckles and plastics across much of our range.
37% of our products are made in the UK, helping to reduce transport emissions and support local manufacturing. We’re also working to remove PFAs from all DWR treatments and remain fully REACH compliant and free from hazardous chemicals.
We believe sustainability extends to people, from the communities we support to the team behind our products. We’re proud to foster a positive and long-standing working environment, with an average team tenure of over 12 years. All of our Tier 1 suppliers are independently audited (SMETA or amfori BSCI) to ensure that workers’ rights are respected and upheld throughout our supply chain. We regularly visit our key suppliers and collaborate closely to support continuous improvement.
While our focus is on helping families explore safely and confidently, we’re also proud to support causes that reflect our values – from protecting the natural world to encouraging outdoor play and adventure for all.
We’re cutting down on single-use plastics and switching to easily recyclable materials across our product range. Most of our customer-facing packaging is now plastic-free. Where protective plastic bags are still required, we use recycled materials that are also fully recyclable - with a goal of using 100% recycled plastic across the board.
Much of our packaging uses FSC-certified card from responsibly managed forests, or fully recycled materials. This goal has already been met for LittleLife and Mountain Paws, with our other brands close behind.
All of our packaging is designed in-house with simplicity and recyclability in mind. Over the past three years, we’ve reduced average packaging size by 30% to help lower material use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Sustainability is a journey, and we’re committed to making better choices at every step.We want to be a better business – one that does good for the planet and the people who share it.Above all, we want to inspire you to keep exploring, learning and discovering the world around you.Enjoy the journey.
