Are You Ready for Action?

The Winter mornings and evenings are still dark, but many little ones are ready to get cracking on their first adventures of 2016 after a fun-filled Christmas- especially if they've just gotten that longed-for scooter or bike!

As parents or guardians yourselves, you already know how important it is to keep them safe and seen when out and about outdoors, particularly with winter hazards. Here are 4 simple but effective methods for helping you keep them from harm.

Layer Up! Lots of layers are key to staying warm in the winter chill! Long sleeved tops, hats, gilets or puffer jackets, long socks- the works. It might be a struggle at the time but they'll thank you for it- possibly!

Be Bright, Morning and Night. Wearing High-visibility clothing, ankle bands, bags, umbrellas or hats (they come in all shapes and colours!) is a positive step towards making sure you and your family are easily seen by cars and lorries.

Top Up Your Knowledge Take an opportunity to refresh your knowledge of the Highway Code, and if they are old enough, talk through some of the key points for pedestrians and why they think they might be important.

Monkey See, Monkey Do- Set a good example for your little ones. Remember, they want to be just like you!
