When we set out to design a toddler backpack with rein in 2003, we focussed on safety and making a product that would last the toddler test of time. Little did we think that 20 years later, LittleLife Toddler Backpacks with Rein would have won over 20 awards, sold millions around the world, and still be going strong. We are proud to have stuck to our principles and our design integrity to continue to deliver a market-leading product that keeps little ones safe on every adventure.
Our first LittleLife Toddler Backpack with Rein was called the Runabout and was introduced in 2003. Our classic rounded dome shape feature of the backpacks gives them a recognisable silhouette and plenty of room for parent and child essentials. Packing their backpack for a day out gives a very young child their first sense of independence and adventure, while the British Standard Rein ensures they are kept safe at all times.
Runabout: 2003 - 2017
Over the years we’ve had some fun collaborations, including a Disney licence in early 2014 which saw us introduce Mickey, Minnie, Tigger and Buzz into the collection. We also created a limited-edition Elmer the Elephant Toddler Backpack with Rein to celebrate Elmer’s 30th birthday. Elmer has a cheerful and optimistic personality, and the stories are written to help introduce young children to cultural diversity. We were thrilled to be part of his milestone birthday.
Elmer: 2019 – 2020
In 2017 we introduced a square-shaped Friendly Faces backpack which is now available in four 3D designs. Our latest introduction is the Emergency Services Toddler Backpack with Rein. Choose from three services to entertain your little one and keep them safe and seen while out and about.
Happy 20th birthday to our Toddler Backpacks with Rein. Each backpack comes with a British Standard, removable Parent Safety Rein, a top grab handle, adjustable shoulder straps with chest strap, a two-litre storage compartment which has a zip opener and an internal name and address label. Our highest standard super tough nylon material and strong webbing ensure our backpacks keep going and going. Read more from a selection of our popular designs below.
The Ladybird Toddler Backpack has spent the longest time in our range, at 15 years. An enduring classic design, loved by girls and boys, the backpack was introduced in 2007 and although has been adjusted over the years, is still a firm favourite today.
Spike, our latest evolution of the Dinosaur backpack now comes with a brighter and stronger print. Appealing to many children this Dinosaur with protruding orange spikes promises ‘roarsome’ adventures time and again.
Championing the amazing work of our emergency services, we introduced three designs to the range: Fire Engine; Ambulance, Police Car. High-vis details are a requisite part of the design, with the special feature of a (detachable) blue flashing light, which flashes when tapped, that will delight little ones looking for a touch of theatre! Providing 40 hours of flash time with spares available, these innovative packs that are ROHS and CE-certified will keep little ones extra safe on darker days.
Emergency Services: 2021 – 2023
