The Toddler Backpacks are designed for children from the age of one. They are formally tested to BS EN 13210:2004 up until the age of four years. We believe the useful age for these products are up to three, so this is what we state. Of course, without the harness, the product can be used as a backpack until four or five years of age.

We test all our harness backpacks and harnesses to the stringent BS EN 13210:2004 standard to ensure that the harness is strong enough and can withstand the falls, trips and tantrums a child can throw at it. Many other brands do not test to this standard so we would check before buying.

Yes, all our products are tested (and pass the tests) for fire retardancy, chemicals, paints and heavy metals under various European and Global standards.

Yes you can buy the rein separately but ensure it is only attached to a compliant LittleLife product.

This is due to the use recommended for this product. As the child is on a scooter or on a bike and being “grabbed” by the handle, the waist belt harness pulls up below the ribs and therefore has a more secure grip on the child.

We invented the backpack reins many years ago and after years of testing, we have found that the top attachment is much safer. Bottom attachments can lift the child up so that they land face first. The best way to use the reins is when the child has a little bit of weight in the backpack, the straps are fitted correctly around the body and the rein is at 15°-45° from the horizontal.

There isn’t a formal height range as it is very much the girth that determines whether the harness fits or not. Height is not much of an issue (within reason!).

In LittleLife terminology, a toddler is from the age of one to three. A kid is from the age of three to five.
