The Easter holidays are a great opportunity to have fun with the family and we’re always looking for our next adventure together. That’s why we’ve come up with five fun family activity ideas to inspire you to keep busy over the school holidays, from Easter egg hunts, to creating delicious, tasty treats with a festive twist.
The classic Easter Egg Hunt but with a twist! Leave a trail of clues hidden with each hidden egg that eventually leads to a big chocolate egg! For little ones, you can simply draw pictures of a sofa, television, or a feature in the garden, with an arrow pointing to the location of where to find the next egg and clue.
An active game to get everyone involved. Someone in the family is selected to be the ‘bunny’. Using a balloon as the ‘egg’, challenge the family to keep the ‘egg’ away from the ‘bunny’ the longest. The ‘bunny’ in the middle must try to intercept the ‘egg’ balloon.
Using a balloon as an ‘egg’, see who can keep their “egg” in the air the longest and don’t let it ‘splat’ on the floor! Don’t forget to add extra ‘eggs’ to the game to make it ‘eggstra’ hard!
Why not whip up a delicious dessert to go with the family meal? We love @squashedpickle Mini Egg Angel pudding for an easy-no-bake pudding.
Mix six crushed digestive biscuits with a large knob of melted butter. Press the mixture down into a dessert bowl and place it in the fridge for later. Prepare a sachet of butterscotch powdered dessert mix as instructed on the packet then smooth over the biscuit base and return to the fridge. Melt 250g milk chocolate, pour and spread all over the pudding and top with crushed mini chocolate eggs. Leave it in the fridge for at least an hour before getting stuck in!
After all those ‘eggciting’ activities, snuggle up with a warm hot chocolate made with love. Simply pour melted chocolate into ice cube trays and add your favourite toppings from mini marshmallows, crushed mini eggs, sprinkles, or cookies. Pop in a lolly stick and then place in the fridge for 30 minutes to set. When you’re ready, stir your topper into a cup of hot milk and enjoy!
